Sealed Mysteries of Pocket Magic
by Jean Hugard This hard-to-find title contains a complete 30-minute routine of magic that any audience will enjoy. Originally sold for the equivalent of more than $50 in today's money. The tricks themselves aren't difficult to perform by themselves, but when performed as a complete routine, they become greater than the sum of their parts. While the author claims that no complicated moves are involved, we should note that these effects are not of the self-working variety. There are no difficult sleights, no stooges, and the props themselves - a length of rope, a deck of playing cards, a box of paper clips, a cigar, some silk handkerchiefs - are all items you likely have already. So there's nothing extra for you to buy.
