Features numerous illustrations and construction sketches by Nelson Hahne, Ed Harris and the author that make the workings crystal clear.

Review of De Vega's performance of the Blade Box Illusion from this book, as recounted in The Gen magazine:

"Mme De Vega is placed in an oblong box which no more than holds her. The front and top of the box are closed and the 'Ordeal of the Blades' commences, in which three 26-inch by 12-inch blades are passed through the box followed by a further twelve blades pushed through at all angles. Finally a long pole is passed through end to end. The box is swung round showing all sides. The blades and pole are rapidly extracted and the box opened to reveal the unharmed lady."

Revised and updated edition includes two new chapters and two added illustrations.
